July 18, Tuesday, 10 – 2 pm (working lunch, bring your own)
Cost: $40.00 per person (Fee must be paid at the time of registration. No refunds.)
Instructor: Jose Colchado
Students will learn and practice the raised surface and incised surface printing process. Found materials that have cut-out or raised surfaces will be explored for the potential to create artistic prints. Styrofoam trays with a smooth surface will serve as the “block” into which students will incise images which will then be printed. Compositions using multiple and varied surfaces as well as single image prints will be produced. Lettering may also be included in the compositions created. The size of the prints will be limited only by the imagination of the students and the materials available (large printed pieces of cloth will be possible).
A minimum of 10 students is required to conduct the class. Maximum 20 students.
Students 14 years old and up can benefit from this workshop.
All materials for printing on paper will be provided. If you wish to print on cloth you must bring your own cloth (light-colored cloth or white is best).
